I am not against the or the protesters. While I usually respect, some of the things I am reading and hearing on the news about their treatment of the public (whether protesters or by-standers) and the, humiliation and harassment of those arrested during the summit is absolutely disgusting. As the city gears up in preparation for PRIDE Toronto – tempers still flare, and rightly so. There need to be answers from the and the government regarding how things were handled before the city can move on. While I was not personally involved, I do feel that everyone has the right to protest should they choose to. There were groups protesting everything from the Environment, to Queer rights, to disAbility rights, and everything in between. Their voices not be heard. All people likely remember of the weekend are the burning cars, the violent Black Bloc, and the brutality. I think Harper owes everyone an apology for wasting over $1, , , of taxpayers dollars on security, and of course the $1, , fake lake, among so other things. Chief has a list of apologies too, but I doubt we’ll hear from either of them. *steps off podium* I’m hoping for a peaceful Pride.
